About Us

Sparking Joy through Music

We aim to help children feel fulfilled, empowered, and hopeful for a bright future while learning a valuable skill they’ll have for life.

A Few Words From Our Founder

I created Zoe Blake & Co. Instruction to help young people cultivate the same love for music I’ve had since childhood.

While studying music education at Berklee College of Music in Boston, I was a part of various ensembles across musical genres and loved collaborating with talented musicians.

I also worked for Vivian Tsang at Merry Melody Music Academy, a premier music school in the Greater Boston Area.

The first time I saw my students perform at a recital, I was filled with so much happiness and pride, I made it my mission to bring music back to my home community.

In 2017, I started offering at-home lessons to kids with a calm, modern approach to music pedagogies. Since then, I’ve brought on more qualified music teachers and served over 100 families in and around the Berkeley area.

Our approach to music education

Each student gets a say in what they’re learning and is encouraged to follow their own creativity and path.

Through engaging, supportive music lessons, our goal is to help students reach their full potential, build confidence, and become part of a positive community of young musicians around the Bay.

Our Teaching Values

Effective

Through personalized lessons, proven methodologies, and feedback, students gain in-depth training in musical foundations and techniques

Positive

It’s incredibly important to us to foster a kind, friendly, and supportive environment to make music learning fun for everyone. And encourage students to stick with it.

Empathetic

Your child will always feel seen and heard. We adapt the lessons to fit each student’s needs and work through any issues with patience and understanding.

Communitcative

Consistency is key when learning a new skill. You can count on us to show up on time every single week. We don’t switch up schedules, teachers, or materials.
